Our contractor has not been with us since the end of October and is unlikely to return until the second week in February at the earliest. The team of volunteers has concentrated on helping landowners to lay service ducts in the three parishes in spite of the very poor weather. We also had a break of three weeks over Christmas and New Year and have taken several days off because of the cold weather in January.
The number of homes and businesses on the network has increased by 50% over the last month. The detailed figures are:
Old Hutton & Holmescales 109 live services and 35 connections only; total = 144
Preston Patrick 31 live services and 12 connections only; total = 43
New Hutton 39 live services and 12 connections only; total = 51.
Therefore, the grand total has increased from 158 last month to 238 on the 16th January. This means that 51% of the 466 connections we have been asked to provide in the project have now been completed. To get past half way is a major achievement but it also means that we still have a long way to go and hope that volunteers will continue to help with the work.
